A few bonus pics from the Fake HC 500

The crew at the halfway point of day one in Junction (after a nice light lunch at Cooper's BBQ).

TWT's Crazycade.

Me approving of Collin's new KLR.
(Because I went down too, I can point out that Collin has lost his right side mirror by this point.)

I think we may have lost someone here.

Hackberry Road.

The GSA jumped that big rock; the KLRs went around.

The Fake Hill Country 500

3 KLRs, 1 GSA
A two day, 500 mile dual sport loop from Fredericksburg to Junction to Leakey to Bandera to Home.
Despite darkness and wives, we managed to ride about 80% of it.

A rough overview of the first day:

Day 1:

Water crossing on CR114.  We picked up two other riders, one KLR and a Suzuki DRZ, and took them to Junction with us.

The gang.

Salt Branch Road

E. Mill Road at James River Road

One of the most severe roads on the loop--CR214 northwest of Junction.

Our camp at Ledge Water off of Hwy 55 just north of Barksdale.
Day 1, Fredericksburg to Barksdale, roughly 270 miles.

Day 2: Barksdale to SA
Sunrise

Nueces River thru Ledge Water.

Not many pics from day two.  I enjoyed the riding much more the second day.
The roads were rockier, less sand.  Still quite a few water crossings, but thankfully, less algae.

Water crossing on Hackberry Road just east of 335. Great road.
